Catering School Opatija was founded by the decision of Municipal Council in Opatija on October 30th 1991. From the very beginnings up to today, the school has been very popular among students and has been very successful in educating many generations of cooks, waiters, pastry cooks and tourism and hospitality commercialist for the market of labor. Besides regular classes, the School has been implementing educational lectures and educations for educational workers; it has also been participating in numerous projects and implementing programs for the education continuation for students that already hold a high school degree. By hard work, the School is not only an educational institution, but also a powerful brand of Opatija and the County.

County of Primorje and Gorski Kotar is a unit of regional autonomy in the region of Primorje and Gorski Kotar in the west part of the Republic of Croatia. Zlatko Komadina (B.Econ.Sc.) is the head of the County.

The history of the building itself and the very beginnings of education in Crikvenice goes back to 1936 when the foundation stone for its building was first placed. Long-term tradition of quality and sustainable tourism of this school has been a guarantee for all the necessary competencies on the labor market.

The history of High school Hrvatski kralj Zvonimir dates back to 1921 which says a lot about its hard work and success. School has 19 classes in different programs such as grammar, engineering, economy, trade, catering and tourism program. Besides regular classes, School actively implements many programs like the continuation of education, adult education, EU project activities as well as the international program Eko-school. Students have opportunity to choose from many programs at hand and to be part of many activities ongoing in the school, and this has been the cornerstone for many satisfied generations and a good starting position for the success on the labor market, but also a reason to remain living on the island.

STEP-RI Ltd. is one of the leading entrepreneurial support institutions in the Republic of Croatia that offers educations and business advice to many present and future entrepreneurs. The Institution has been creating and participating in specialized programs that instigate entrepreneurial initiatives of employed and unemployed, students and scientific community, and the new services and business models raise the level of competition of the current entrepreneurs. IV-ER-KONTEX-VATROGASNE CIJEVI LTD. (IV-ER-KONTEX_FIREFIGHTING TUBES LTD.) STRATED ITS WORK IN 1947. Through the years the firm prides itself on top firefighting tubes of different purposes and profiles whose products are present on domestic (20% – Europe and the USA) and foreign (80%) market. The Company has upgraded its line of work to tourism and now has in its possession a business unit of hotel EUROPA. It holds many certificates on product quality issued by outside authorized institutions for domestic and foreign market.
